  • You had a laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery (keyhole surgery)
  • Your surgery was for painful gallstones (symptomatic gallstones)
  • You have not had prior major complications from gallstone disease
  • Your surgery was not for another reason besides painful gallstones
  • You should be able to complete quality-of-life questionnaires
  • You must be willing to participate
