Who can take part

  • You are in good health or have only mild health issues (ASA 1 or 2).
  • You have uncomplicated gallstones that are scheduled for planned surgery.
  • You do not have gallstones in the bile duct.
  • You are not having other procedures done at the same time.
  • You have not had a stroke or other nerve problems that affect how you feel pain.
  • You do not have fluid in your belly (ascites) or cancer spread in your abdomen.
