Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You have sudden (acute) kidney injury that requires dialysis using a machine treatment called online sustained low efficiency dialysis—filtration.
  • Your ICU illness severity score (SOFA score) is above 5.
  • Your current blood sodium level is between 135 and 145 mmol/L.
  • You are not in late-stage long-term kidney disease (stage IV or V).
