  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are in intensive care with sudden kidney failure that needs dialysis.
  • You are not already on long-term dialysis for chronic kidney disease.
  • You do not have severe liver disease (Child-Pugh C).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
