This trial studies whether a diabetes medicine called metformin can help prevent or control non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer inside the bladder. You would take it by mouth, and the study checks safety and whether it works.

Who can take part
- You are over 18 years old.
- Your bladder cancer is low-grade (Ta or T1, grade 1 or 2) and there’s no concern for carcinoma in situ.
- Your bladder cancer has 1 to 5 lesions, with one main lesion between 0.5 and 1.0 cm.
- Your kidney function is good enough (eGFR above 50).
- You must not have started metformin in the last 6 months and you must not be currently taking metformin for diabetes.
- You must be able to attend treatments and follow-up visits, and you must sign informed consent.
