Biobank study for primary sclerosing and primary biliary cholangitis
Part of Cancer, Digestive system clinical trials.
This study collects and stores samples from people with PSC (primary sclerosing cholangitis), PBC (primary biliary cholangitis), and some related liver conditions. Researchers use these samples to better understand these diseases and support future research.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- Be between 18 and 85 years old
- Have PSC or PBC, or be a control without those diseases (or with other chronic liver disease)
- Have a PSC or PBC diagnosis that meets the study’s standard medical criteria, lasting at least 6 months
- Be able to understand the study and sign informed consent
- Not have another chronic liver disease that overlaps with PSC or PBC

This study collects bile and uses it to grow small lab models (organoids) from people with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and from people without PSC. Researchers want to better understand how PSC changes bile cells, which could improve future diagnosis or treatments.
This study creates a national database for people diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). It may help researchers learn more about the condition by collecting health information from participants.
This study looks at what drives primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and how it affects the body, using a team approach and medical tests like scans and blood work. It may help researchers understand PSC better and could improve future treatment decisions.
This study follows children and young adults with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) to understand the condition and how it shows up on scans or biopsy. It may help doctors better recognize PSC and choose the best next steps for care.
This study follows people with bile duct cancer or certain liver cancers to better understand their disease. You might be included if you meet the diagnosis and basic participation requirements.
This study creates a collection of blood and tissue samples from people with liver, bile duct, gallbladder, or pancreatic conditions, as well as healthy volunteers. The samples are stored to help researchers better understand these diseases and find new treatments.
