Who can take part

  • Be 18 years old or older and able to give consent
  • Be fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Not be pregnant or nursing
  • Do not currently smoke and do not have a history of blood clots
  • Have no serious chronic illnesses (heart, lung, neuromuscular disease, cancer, etc.) beyond possibly stage 1 hypertension
  • Your standing blood pressure must match the study’s pattern (either higher than lying by at least 10, or about the same within 5)
