Safety and effectiveness of a cerclage pessary for high-risk early births

High Risk Pregnancy

Treatments studied

Part of Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.

This study tests a device called a cerclage pessary to help prevent an early birth and to treat high-risk situations where the cervix may open too soon. It aims to check whether the pessary is safe and helps improve pregnancy outcomes for people at high risk.

Late cerclage for preventing early birth in high-risk pregnancies

This trial tests if placing a stitch in the cervix (cerclage) between 24 and 27 weeks of pregnancy can help prevent preterm birth in women whose cervix is short. It may be an option for those who find out late in pregnancy that they are at risk.

Laparoscopic vs vaginal cerclage to prevent early birth

This trial compares two types of surgery (one done through small cuts in the belly, one done through the vagina) to place a stitch around the cervix and prevent preterm birth. It may be a good option if you and your doctor are unsure which approach is best for you.

Cerclage with progesterone vs progesterone alone for twin pregnancy with short cervix
