- 18 to 45 years old
- Pregnant with a single baby
- Diagnosed with placenta previa (total or marginal) or a low-lying placenta less than 20 mm from the cervix opening between 20 and 30 weeks of pregnancy
- No major fetal abnormalities detected on ultrasound
- No silicone allergy, active infection, or bleeding at enrollment
- No prior cervical cerclage or pessary already in place
