Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older, can understand the study, and agree by signing consent
  • You have circulation-limiting symptoms in the leg that fit Rutherford category 2 to 4
  • Your blockage is in the thigh/knee artery area and is long (about 10 cm or more), and a stent is planned
  • After the stent, your doctor can use either a drug-coated balloon (DCB) or a regular balloon (POBA) for the same treatment area
  • The artery that carries blood to the ankle has at least one open “downstream” route with no major blockage (50% or more), and they will not treat outflow problems during this procedure
  • You can take the required blood-thinning medicines before and after the procedure (and you are not allergic to needed materials/contrast)
