This study looks at how getting good sleep changes learning in adults as they age. If you sleep regularly and don’t have certain sleep or brain/mental health conditions, you may be able to take part.

Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 80 years old
  • Be generally healthy and have no diagnosed sleep disorder or major brain/nerve illness
  • Sleep about 5 to 9 hours per night on average and keep a regular schedule
  • Avoid using sleep-altering drugs or certain mood/nerve medications (and don’t use recreational drugs)
  • Limit caffeine to 4 cups or less per day and alcohol to 10 cups or less per week
  • For any MRI part: be right-handed, not claustrophobic, and have no metal implants or pregnancy
