Who can take part

  • You are a woman with ovaries that have hormone/menstrual issues (or a specific hormone pattern for the study groups)
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is within the study’s ranges (about 18.5–25 or up to 40, depending on the group)
  • You either meet one of the study hormone/menstrual patterns (including ovulatory dysfunction or specific polycystic ovary syndrome types) OR you meet the “regular cycles” group criteria
  • You do moderate-to-vigorous exercise more than 5 hours per week in some groups (or mild/no exercise for another group)
  • You are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding, and you were not in the prior 6 months (for study start)
  • You have no major exclusion conditions (smoking/alcohol above limits, certain medicines affecting ovulation, or certain chronic illnesses)
