  • Be able to consent (agree to join)
  • Have been referred for evaluation of suspected distal symmetric polyneuropathy (nerve pain/numbness in a typical pattern in hands/feet)
  • Have completed the study questionnaires
  • Not be bedridden or acutely ill (for example, with fever)
