Who can take part

  • Your newborn is being cared for in the neonatal ward at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital or Kamuzu Central Hospital
  • Your baby is younger than 28 days old
  • Your baby is at risk for jaundice or is currently receiving blue light treatment for jaundice
  • A parent or legal guardian can give permission for the study
  • Your baby can have a small blood sample taken (like a heel stick) if the clinician needs it
