  • Baby must be between 35 and 42 weeks at birth
  • Birth weight must be more than 2 kilograms (about 4.4 pounds)
  • Baby must be between 0 and 28 days old
  • Baby must not be severely ill or have a life-threatening birth defect
  • Baby must not have a skin disease or have received light therapy (phototherapy) or a blood exchange transfusion
