TNF medication trial for blast-related tinnitus

This Phase 2 study tests whether a TNF-α medicine can reduce tinnitus symptoms after blast or loud noise exposure, sometimes with traumatic brain injury. You may be a candidate if your tinnitus is at least moderately severe and stable over time, and if you meet other health and medication rules.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and can give written consent for the study
  • Your tinnitus is at least moderately severe (Tinnitus Functional Index score 25 or higher)
  • Your tinnitus started after blast/loud noise exposure or after a doctor-diagnosed concussion or traumatic brain injury
  • Your tinnitus is constant (not coming and going) and not “pulsing”
  • You must stop other tinnitus treatments or programs for 4 weeks before starting this study
  • You must be able to do tinnitus questionnaires and hearing evaluations (or, if hearing loss is very severe, you can still rate how loud and upsetting it is)
