Who can take part
- You must be African American
- You must have sickle cell anemia (or be an African American healthy control)
- You must be 18 years or older
- You cannot be pregnant
- You cannot have known hypertension (high blood pressure)
- You should not be on hemodialysis, and you should not have untreated obstructive sleep apnea that needs treatment
- You cannot take anti-platelet medicines, and you cannot have had a blood transfusion in the last 4 weeks
