- Your child is newly entering an institution or foster system in or near São Paulo, Brazil
- A foster parent or the institution director is acting as your child’s legal guardian at the time of the study start
- Your child is under 24 months old at the start of the study
- Your child was born weighing 2,500 grams or more (not underweight)
- Your child does not have a condition that strongly affects typical development, such as cerebral palsy, fetal alcohol syndrome, or Down syndrome
