Who can take part
- You must be an adult (18 or older) admitted to the ICU during a study period.
- The ICU you’re in must use rotating resident trainees who cover overnight in-house for enough shifts.
- The ICU team must agree to let resident schedules be randomly assigned for the study.
- You must not be in the ICU at the very start of the study period.
- If you’re a resident: you must be in a Canadian accredited specialty program (not critical care), be able to do overnight in-house work with supervision, and have your first 4 weeks in the ICU all during one study period.
