This study uses a hand/eye pressure test (tonometry) and an ultrasound scan (duplex ultrasound) to see if they can predict future heart or blood vessel events in people with an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) who are planning elective surgery. It may help doctors choose the safest follow-up and treatments for you after repair.

Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older and can sign consent and return for follow-up visits
  • You have an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) in the lower or near-upper part of the aorta
  • Your AAA surgery is planned (either open repair, EVAR, FEVAR, or CHEVAR) through standard care
  • You have a life expectancy of at least 2 years
  • You are not in another study that could affect the results
