  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You can sign consent to join the study
  • You have colon cancer that is either non-metastatic and can be removed, or metastatic to the liver where doctors planned a combined colon and liver operation
  • You are generally able to care for yourself (performance status 0 or 1)
  • You have colon cancer, not rectal cancer (and it’s not a recurrence)
  • You have no serious issues that prevent study visits or exams
