Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for one-sided knee (TKA) or hip (THA) replacement surgery at the VA hospital in Charleston
  • You can understand consent forms and follow study instructions
  • You can hear the education/CB intervention through headphones and understand English
  • You do not have implanted medical devices above the waist
  • You have no history of seizures, are not pregnant, and are not allergic to latex
  • You have no major psychiatric condition other than depression and/or anxiety
