Brain Stimulation Plus Therapy for Pain and PTSD

Who can take part

  • You have chronic (long-term) pain that is not from cancer and not related to fibromyalgia or frequent severe migraines.
  • Your pain has lasted for at least 6 months and is at least a 3 on a 0-10 pain scale.
  • You have been diagnosed with PTSD (by a doctor) and still have moderate or severe symptoms.
  • You are willing to be randomly placed into one of the treatment groups and follow the study plan.
  • You are not currently taking certain pain medications (like opioids or specific nerve blockers) that can interfere with the brain stimulation device used in this study.
  • You do not have a seizure disorder, a metal implant in your head or neck, or an open head injury, and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
