Who can take part
- You are 18–70 years old, and you expect to live more than 12 months
- You have invasive ductal breast cancer (confirmed by biopsy) that will be treated with surgery
- Your cancer is stage IIb to IIIc (not advanced metastasis in the brain or liver)
- Your cancer has at least one measurable spot the study can track on scans
- You have not had any prior breast cancer chemo, hormone therapy, radiation, targeted therapy, or other study treatment
- You can do study blood tests and procedures (including a baseline tumor sample) and agree to follow-up
