Who can take part

  • Have mild to moderate corneal endothelial decompensation or bullous keratopathy, with minimal scarring in the cornea’s middle layer
  • Your specific cause should be something like Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy or a post-surgery corneal failure (bullous keratopathy) after cataract/other surgery
  • You should not have severe or late-stage corneal scarring, or other complicated eye problems that would make this transplant technique unlikely to work
  • Be between 21 and 80 years old, and not pregnant
  • Be willing and able to participate, and not have a cognitive condition that prevents understanding/consent
  • Have no known allergy to the antibiotics used in the trial
