Who can take part
- Your tumor must be grade 3 and poorly differentiated (or a mixed tumor where at least 30% is this grade 3 poorly differentiated part)
- Your cancer must be metastatic (spread to other body areas) and you must be starting treatment for metastatic disease for the first time
- You must have at least one tumor spot that can be measured on a CT scan or MRI
- Your key blood counts and liver/bile tests must be high enough (and bilirubin/AST/ALT must be within allowed limits)
- Your body strength and daily functioning must be fairly good (ECOG 0 to 1)
- You must not have had certain past chemo drugs, and you must not have conditions like major kidney problems, DPD deficiency, or active pregnancy/breastfeeding
