Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old
- You have lab-confirmed COVID-19 (or you have influenza A or B)
- You must have ARDS with low oxygen that has not improved, requiring strong life-support breathing support
- You must be on an invasive breathing machine or ECMO despite standard rescue measures
- If you can become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test and use effective birth control during the study and for 1 month after
