Testing gentle stimulation of ovaries before fertility treatment

This trial studies whether a “mechanical stimulation” procedure can help small egg-making structures in the ovary start to work again in people with primary ovarian insufficiency. If the procedure shows signs of response, you may then move on to further fertility treatment, including IVF.

Who can take part

  • You must be 40 years old or younger and have primary ovarian insufficiency (ovaries stop working early).
  • Your chromosome test (karyotype) must be normal, and it’s not due to a known genetic cause like Turner syndrome.
  • Your BMI must be 35 or lower, and you’ve had little or no periods (oligo/amenorrhea) for at least 4 months.
  • Blood tests should match the trial thresholds: FSH over 25 IU/mL and AMH 0.1 ng/mL or less.
  • Ultrasound should show no follicles larger than 4 mm, and you must have two ovaries of about equal size.
  • You must be willing to undergo surgery and possible IVF, and have a transvaginal ultrasound with Doppler (to check blood flow) before the procedure.
