Who can take part

  • Be 18 to 70 years old
  • Have a scheduled elective heart rhythm procedure where a temporary pacing wire is placed in the right atrium
  • Have a left heart pumping strength (left ventricular ejection fraction) of 50% or higher
  • Be able and willing to sign informed consent
  • Be able to travel to the Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta
