Temporary pacing study for HFpEF
Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This study looks at how temporary pacing affects heart function in people with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). It may help researchers understand the condition better and find new ways to treat it.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You have a confirmed diagnosis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) as defined by ESC guidelines.
- You have symptoms of heart failure (NYHA class II to IV) like shortness of breath with activity or at rest.
- Your heart's pumping ability is normal or nearly normal (LVEF 50% or higher).
- You do not have persistent or permanent atrial fibrillation (AF) or a permanent pacemaker.
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy during the study.

This study tests a new pacing approach for people with a specific type of heart failure (HFpEF) to see if it can improve symptoms and quality of life. It involves a pacemaker-like device that adjusts heart rate based on your needs.
This study tests whether a special pacing setting during exercise can help improve heart filling pressures in people with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) who already have a DDD pacemaker. If you have HFpEF and a pacemaker, you may help researchers find better ways to manage your condition during activity.
This trial studies a heart pacing approach in people with heart failure symptoms despite preserved heart pumping. It aims to see whether changing heart timing can improve how you feel and how your heart works during exercise.
This trial tests whether a special pacing pattern can strengthen your heart's pumping ability. You may qualify if you have heart failure with a low ejection fraction and already have a pacemaker or defibrillator with an atrial lead.
This trial tests two types of heart pacing procedures for people with heart failure and atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat). One approach involves disabling the natural electrical pathway between the upper and lower heart chambers and using a pacemaker to regulate heartbeats; the other uses a special pacemaker that helps both chambers work together. The goal is to reduce symptoms and hospitalizations.
This trial studies people who have heart failure symptoms but whose heart pumping strength is largely preserved. It aims to better understand this specific type of heart failure and how best to treat or evaluate it.
