  • You are 18 years old or older
  • Your healthcare team says you are medically able to have this surgery
  • Your problem is in the first toe joint (1st MTP) and fusion is a suitable option based on exam and x-rays
  • You tried non-surgical options first (like special supports/orthotics, braces, pain medicines, or shoe changes) and they did not help enough
  • Your surgery plan is only for the first toe joint fusion (not other procedures)
