Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- Your cancer is an HPV-related squamous cell cancer of the oropharynx (throat) or the primary cancer site is unknown.
- The cancer must not be in distant parts of the body (no distant metastasis).
- Your tumor test shows p16 positive: strong, widespread staining (diffuse ≥70% with at least moderate intensity).
- You have not had any prior treatment (including no prior radiation to the head/neck or prior head/neck cancer).
- You must be able to do standard cancer treatment and attend follow-up visits; you also need to consent to the study and have good tissue for genetic testing.
