This trial tests if monitoring cancer DNA left in your blood after surgery can help decide if you need additional treatment. It is for people with HPV-positive oropharynx (throat) cancer who have a certain amount of cancer DNA detected before surgery.

Who can take part

  • Your cancer must be HPV-positive (p16+) and located in the oropharynx (back of the throat) or from an unknown primary that is p16+.
  • Your cancer stage must be T0-3, N0-N1, M0 (early stage, no spread to distant organs).
  • You must have had a blood test that found cancer DNA (ctDNA) before your surgery.
  • Based on a tumor board review, you should be a candidate for robotic surgery (TORS).
  • Your overall health must be good enough for daily activities (Zubrod score 0-1).
