Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old and had a single, double, or heart-lung transplant
  • You currently feel well (no symptoms)
  • Your breathing test (spirometry) is normal, meaning your FEV1 has not dropped more than 10% from your usual baseline
  • Your chest X-ray of the transplanted lung area is clear
  • You can consent to the ultrasound testing
  • The ultrasound team must be able to get clear pictures; for example, certain skin air pockets or other technical issues may stop participation
