Who can take part
- Be age 18 or older
- Have cirrhosis and be seen at Mercy Medical Center’s hepatology clinic between 09/2020 and 07/2021
- Have no hepatitis B protection (anti-HBs blood test result under 10 mIU/mL)
- Have never been exposed to hepatitis B before
- Do not have a history of a serious allergic reaction to a hepatitis B vaccine, its ingredients, or yeast
- Not be a post–liver transplant patient
