Who can take part

  • You have metastatic gastroenteropancreatic NET (the cancer has spread to lymph nodes or liver)
  • Your tumor is WHO grade 1 or 2, and your Ki-67 is 20% or less (a lab test)
  • Your doctors think you’re a good candidate for surgery to remove as much tumor as possible (an R1-type goal)
  • Your scans show measurable tumors and that all target spots have somatostatin receptors on a DOTA TATE PET scan
  • You’re age 18 or older, able to do daily activities fairly well (ECOG 0–1), and your blood/organ tests are adequate
  • You’ve been on octreotide long-acting injections (20 mg or 30 mg every 3–4 weeks) for at least 12 weeks
