Who can take part
- You have early-stage breast cancer (stage I, II, or III) that is estrogen- or progesterone-receptor positive and HER2 negative.
- You are post-menopausal (for example, age 55+, or at least 12 months with no periods, or specific blood test hormone levels).
- Your breast tumor is at least 1 cm and your team can take tissue samples before and after treatment.
- You must be able to take and swallow the study pills by mouth, and you can sign consent.
- Your recent blood tests and organ function look safe enough for treatment (including blood counts, liver/kidney tests, and creatinine clearance >30).
- You plan a short course of hormone-based treatment before other cancer treatment or surgery (typically about 2 weeks).
