Who can take part

  • You have a HeartMate 3 blood pump implanted at the Medical University of Vienna
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You can understand the study and sign the informed consent form
  • You do not have a blood clot inside the heart (intraventricular) or at the aortic root
  • You do not have a known bleeding/clotting problem that makes clots more likely
  • Your body can be imaged with transthoracic ultrasound (ultrasound through the chest) well enough for the study
