Fulvestrant or capecitabine plus pyrotinib for metastatic breast cancer
Part of Cancer, Skin clinical trials.
This Phase 3 trial tests adding pyrotinib to standard hormone-based treatments (fulvestrant or capecitabine) to slow or control metastatic breast cancer. It’s for tumors that are hormone-receptor positive and HER2 positive, where standard options have been used before.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You are an adult woman (age 18 to 80) with breast cancer that has spread (metastatic) and can’t be cured with surgery or radiation
- Your tumor tests positive for estrogen and/or progesterone (ER/PR) and also positive for HER2
- You must be postmenopausal (or have had both ovaries removed, or stopped ovarian function with medicines)
- Your cancer should have progressed after previous trastuzumab-based treatment, and the last trastuzumab treatment should have ended more than 12 months ago
- You have at least one measurable spot on scans (or a certain type of bone metastasis) that can be followed during the study
- Your blood counts, liver/kidney tests, and heart rhythm/heart pumping ability must be in safe ranges

This trial tests whether adding pyrotinib to trastuzumab after surgery can reduce breast cancer coming back in people with HER2-positive, early-stage breast cancer. It may help some patients by improving treatment effectiveness, but it also requires meeting specific heart, lab, and health criteria.
This Phase 2 study compares two treatment plans after breast surgery when cancer did not fully disappear before surgery. It tests whether adding trastuzumab, pyrotinib, and capecitabine works better than continuing the original targeted therapy.
This trial tests a combination of three targeted drugs for a type of advanced breast cancer that is both ER-positive and HER2-positive. The goal is to see if adding these two new drugs to standard hormone therapy can help shrink or control the cancer.
This trial tests a new combination of two targeted drugs (entinostat and pyrotinib) with hormone therapy for people with advanced, triple-positive breast cancer whose disease has progressed after trastuzumab (Herceptin). The goal is to see if this approach works better than current options.
This Phase 3 study tests giving trastuzumab and pertuzumab as additional (adjuvant) treatment after you had those same medicines before surgery but still had remaining cancer. It may help lower the chance that HER2-positive breast cancer comes back.
This Phase 3 trial compares two medicines—fulvestrant versus capecitabine—as “maintenance” treatment after your first chemo helps control metastatic breast cancer. It aims to see which one helps people live longer with better disease control.
