Study tumor DNA changes during robot surgery after radiation

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You previously had head and neck cancer treated with radiation
  • You are currently scheduled for transoral robotic surgery (robot-assisted surgery through the mouth) for a cancer that is persistent, recurrent, or a new primary in the upper throat/voice box area
  • The robot surgery must be part of treatment, not just diagnosis
  • Your cancer type is not nasopharyngeal (behind the nose) or thyroid cancer
  • There must be tissue samples available for researchers to study from the recurrent or residual tumor
