Study of children born to mothers with gestational diabetes

Offspring Exposed to GDM and Control

Who can take part

  • You (the parent) and the child must be willing and able to sign consent forms
  • Your mother must have had a pregnancy oral glucose tolerance test (a diabetes screening test)
  • If your mother had gestational diabetes, it must have been managed appropriately until birth
  • The child must not have serious birth defects that would prevent medical exams
  • The child must not have a bleeding/clotting problem that makes blood draws unsafe
