Who can take part

  • Be age 18 or older.
  • Have lupus that meets standard classification criteria (your clinician confirms you have SLE) and a positive ANA blood test at or above 1/80.
  • Have been on stable lupus medicines for a set time before screening, such as hydroxychloroquine (up to 400 mg/day), and/or certain other immune medicines, plus a stable steroid dose (up to 20 mg/day prednisone or equivalent).
  • Have active lupus disease based on activity scores your doctor measures (at least one organ/system affected and an overall activity score of 6 or higher).
  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding, and you must not plan pregnancy (or father a child) during the study and for 3 months after the last dose.
  • You need recent lab results that are not too low (red blood cells, white blood cells, neutrophils, platelets) and kidney/protein levels must meet limits (no very high protein in urine, and kidney function above 50 mL/min/1.73 m²).
