Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have a BMI (body mass index) of 30 or higher, or between 25–30 if joining as a comparison participant
- Your BMI was measured about one month after you started dialysis
- You agree to let the research team collect and use your medical information
- You have never had weight-loss surgery (bariatric surgery)
- You did not need dialysis because a previous kidney transplant failed
