Who can take part

  • You are over 18 and under 75 years old
  • Your stomach cancer is confirmed by biopsy as a primary stomach adenocarcinoma
  • Your scans/tests show no spread to distant organs (M0) and a resectable tumor stage (cT1–4a)
  • Your planned treatment is a distal gastrectomy with lymph node removal (D1+ or D2) with an expected clear margins (R0)
  • Your heart/lung/overall health is stable enough for surgery (ECOG 0–1; ASA I–III; lung test FEV1 50% or higher)
  • You can give written consent and have not had certain prior treatments or surgeries (see below)
