Who can take part
- Be age 18 or older
- Have esophageal or esophagogastric cancer confirmed by biopsy (either squamous cell or adenocarcinoma)
- Your cancer stage must be I to IVa (not beyond the nearby area)
- You should be scheduled to get your initial (primary) cancer treatment at the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences
- Your overall health must be good enough for treatment (ECOG 0–1) and you’re expected to live at least 3 months
- You must have blood tests and organ tests in safe ranges (including adequate blood counts, kidney function, and liver/clotting results)
