Who can take part

  • You have a confirmed diagnosis of chordoma or chondrosarcoma in the spine, sacrum, or clivus.
  • Your doctors have accepted you for standard proton beam radiation therapy.
  • You can (and will) do MRI scans, including coping with claustrophobia if needed.
  • You do not have MRI-incompatible implants (for example, certain metal devices).
  • The tumor/lesion is at least 1 centimeter in size.
  • You are age 50 or older, and your tumor grade is below WHO 3.
