Radiation for limited, progressing prostate cancer on abiraterone

OligoprogressiveCastration-Resistant Prostate Cancer

This study tests whether a very focused type of radiation (SABR) can control a small number of prostate cancer spots that are starting to grow while you’re already on abiraterone. It may help by treating only the areas that are progressing, while other areas remain controlled.

Who can take part

  • You are able to carry out daily activities normally (ECOG 0–1).
  • Your prostate cancer has been confirmed by biopsy/pathology as prostate adenocarcinoma.
  • Your cancer is metastatic and has become resistant to castration treatments (castration-resistant).
  • You are currently being treated with abiraterone.
  • Scans show only a small number of spots are progressing (oligoprogression), and the total number is limited (about 5 or fewer).
  • All cancer spots being treated can safely receive SABR (very focused radiation).
