This trial studies how targeted radiation (SBRT) affects cancer biology and immune cells in people with colon cancer that has spread only to a small number of lung nodules. Your tumor tissue will be analyzed to see what changes after treatment.

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with colorectal adenocarcinoma (a type of colon cancer)
  • You have 2 or 3 lung nodules, each smaller than 25 mm, and you currently feel well (no symptoms from them)
  • You can do usual daily activities fairly well (ECOG 0 or 1)
  • You can have SBRT (a clinician decides you are a candidate for this targeted radiation)
  • You have tumor tissue available from a past surgery/biopsy (FFPE tissue block)
  • You can and agree to follow-up visits, and you provide informed consent
