Wheat beer to help prevent confusion in ICU patients

Who can take part

  • You are an adult ICU patient expected to stay at least 24 hours
  • You have a feeding tube in place through your nose (nasogastric tube)
  • Your ICU stay has been 72 hours or less before the first study dose
  • You can take the wheat beer safely (no allergy to beer ingredients) and you have no serious liver disease
  • You do not already have delirium and you are not in a terminal condition
  • Women must not be pregnant (negative test) and cannot be breastfeeding
