Who can take part
- You are an adult age 50 or older
- You are expected to stay in the ICU for more than 24 hours
- You do not already have delirium or sudden confusion before ICU admission
- You do not have significant existing memory/thinking problems (cognitive impairment)
- You can communicate well (no major hearing/vision problems that would make communication difficult)
- You are not expected to die within 24 hours, and you are willing to receive life-sustaining treatment
